Very large coopered oak and copper ale/cider jug.
Beautiful decorative coopered jug.
This is put together much the same way as a barrel. Made from slats of oak and then tightly bound with three bands of copper which are riveted to the jug.
Possibly used in a pub to serve cider or ale this piece dates from the late 19th century.
This jug is no longer watertight due to its age, as the wood has aged some of the slats have slightly shrunk, however because it is such a large jug you could easily fit a vase or other vessel inside to display fresh flowers.
A wonderful piece with much character and charm, adding a very rustic look to your setting.
A very old item so comes with wear and tear.
